Peshawar High Court Abbottabad Bench Acquits Senior Doctors Of AMC In Corruption Charges Case
Umer Jamshaid Published November 20, 2018 | 08:35 PM
A two-member Peshawar High Court (PHC) Abbottabad bench on Tuesday acquitted senior doctors of Ayub Medical Complex (AMC) in corruption charges case.
The bench comprising Justice Mussarat Hilali and Justice Abdul Shakoor after hearing NAB and KP Accountability Commission and the accused doctors dismissed the case against the senior doctors of AMC.
The doctors were booked by NAB last year in allegedly committing financial embezzlement while purchasing machinery for newly constructed Genealogy and Peds wards at Ayub Medical College (AMC).
Board of Governors AMC had started an inquiry against the doctors under 2011 Efficiency and Disciplinary rules and found them clear however NAB and KP accountability commission were not satisfied with the inquiry of BoGs and served notices to the doctors.
The doctors challenged NAB notices in PHC Abbottabad bench while the court ordered NAB to look into financial corruption.
Last day the prosecutor of NAB Omer Farooq and Deputy Prosecutor General KP accountability commission Syed Farooq Shah told the PHC bench that they found no corruption in purchase of machinery and therefore requested court to acquit the accused doctors.
