Polling begins for Sindh High Court Bar Association election

The votting for election of the office bearees of Sindh High Court Bar Association Hyderabad Chapter began here on Saturday

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Feb, 2018 ) :The votting for election of the office bearees of Sindh High Court Bar Association Hyderabad Chapter began here on Saturday. According to the Election Committee, as many as 1,280 lawyers from 14 districts of Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Nawabshah divisions were eligible to vote in the election.

The voting process started at 9 am and would conclude by 5 pm.The SHCBA's election was earlier thrice postponed due to contention between two groups of lawyers over the voting list. It was earlier scheduled for January 13, January 20 and January 27.However, on complaints of the contesting candidates the Pakistan Bar Council and Sindh Bar Council deferred the elections.

The contenders for the slot of President SHCBA Hyderabad include advocates Ayaz Hussain Tunio, Ghulamullah Chang and Nisar Ahmed Durrani. The lawyers Muhammad Aslam Bhatti and Waseem Shah are vying for the seat of vice president while advocates Ishrat Lohar, Mir Ahmed Mangrio, Taj Muhammad Keerio and Mumtaz Alam Laghari for general secretary.

On the seat of joint secretary, advocates Sachal Aiwan, Ghulam Ashghar Mirbahar, Nadir Hussain Junejo, Noorul Ameen Sipio and Irfan Ali Bughio are contestin. Similarly, lawyers Fayaz Ahmed Laghari, Mujahid Abbass Kolachi, Mumtaz Ahmed Laghari and Shahida Parveen are fighting for the position of library secretary.

On the seat of treasurer, advocates Bhagwandas Bheel, Bilawal Majeed, Ashfaq Ahmed Lanjar and Waseem Ahmed Rajpar are contending. For the seats of Member Managing Committee (MMC) the contenders include Imtiaz Ali Channa, Ali Nawaz Chandio, Israr Hussain Chang, Kanjimal Meghwadh, Muhammad Hassan Chandio, Mushtaq Ali Taggar, Muhammad Iqbal Hingoro, Rao Faisal Rajput, Rehana Nazeer Gujjar, Rashid Ali Khan, Muhammad Hassan Mashwri, Shabana Noreen, Sunny Panhwar and Sardar Iqbal.
