Provincial Election Commissioner Chairs Meeting To Review Arrangements For By-election In Swat

Provincial Election Commissioner, Pir Maqbool Ahmed Tuesday here chaired the meeting of the returning officers of the PK-3, PK-7 of Swat district constituencies to review the arrangements for the upcoming bye-elections to be held on October 14 (Sunday)
SWAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Oct, 2018 ) : Provincial Election Commissioner, Pir Maqbool Ahmed Tuesday here chaired the meeting of the returning officers of the PK-3, PK-7 of Swat district Constituencies to review the arrangements for the upcoming bye-elections to be held on October 14 (Sunday).
The meeting was also attended by Regional Election Commissioner who also the district Returning Officer the bye election.
The Provincial Election Commissioner directed the Election Commission staff to keep close liaison with the administration so that the electoral process could be completed in a free and transparent manner.
Focus should be made on areas where women polling turnout ratio remained low, PEC directed.
The PEC further directed to implement the directives of the Election Commission in letter and spirit and ensure provision of Form-45 to the polling agents. Proper care should be taken of the transportation of the male and female staff of the by-election in these constituencies.
At the outset of the meeting the ROs briefed the election commissioner in detail about the arrangements. The Grossy Ground has been made distribution center where election material has been kept in bags under tight security.
The activities are being monitored through CCTV cameras the meeting was told and further informed that overall arrangements have been completed whereas security cover has also been ensured.
No complaint till date has been received about any violation of code of conduct of by- election, the meeting informed.
The meeting was told that deployment of polling staff for the day has also been finalized and the staff has been provided orientationtraining as well. The ROs also visited the concerned police stations for reviewingsecurity arrangements.
