LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jul, 2025) A four-day-old baby girl was saved after a swift response from the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) virtual blood bank, when her family made an emergency call for blood through the police helpline 15.
According to a PSCA spokesperson, the infant was admitted to Mayo Hospital in critical condition and urgently needed blood. Responding immediately, an officer from the virtual blood bank personally donated blood to save the child's life.
The father of the baby expressed deep gratitude to the PSCA team, praising their timely assistance and calling their efforts a blessing in a time of distress.
The virtual blood bank, launched by the PSCA just eight months ago, had emerged as a vital service, offering timely assistance to citizens across Punjab. So far, it had successfully supported over 26,000 patients, while over 80,000 blood donors had been registered in its growing database.
The spokesperson added that the virtual blood bank operates 24/7 across the province, ensuring round-the-clock availability of blood in emergencies.
