PTI Govt Gives Priority To National Security: Afridi

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Sep, 2018 ) :Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi Tuesday said national security remained at stake during the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government as all the borders of the country were not secure.
The statements given by former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in the parliament in that regard were part of the record, he said while talking to a private news channel.
He said the incumbent government was giving top priority to the national security and taking concrete measures for the purpose.
The minister said during the previous governments, state land was used by the elite as their personal property and on the other side the common man remained deprived of basic necessities of life, particularly clean drinking water.
Contracts of government projects, he said, were awarded to the blue-eyed as e-tendering was not in vogue during the past regimes. PEMRA ordinance and other laws were violated by the PML-N government, he added.
Shehryar Afridi alleged that PML-N's finance minister Miftah Ismail had presented wrong figures in the parliament regarding economy, and facts and figures in that regard would be presented before the nation.
Replying to a question, he said Saudi Arabia would become a big partner in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. It would invest almost $10 billion in the project and a high level Saudi delegation was due here in a couple of days. he added.
He said the opposition had the right to criticise government policies as it was the beauty of a democratic system, but it should not be for point scoring. The opposition was criticizing only those persons, who had always supported Prime Minister Imran Khan. Zulfi Bukhari, who was pride of the country, was one of them who was under criticism for standing with his leader, he added.
He said Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar hailed from the middle class and he would prove that he was capable of the office entrusted to him by Imran Khan through his performance and good governance in the province.
