Saaf Pani Case: PML-N Leader Qamarul Islam Released On Bail

The LHC accepted the bail plea of six accused in the Saaf Pani case, including Qamarul Islam.
Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 30th January, 2019) The Lahore High Court (LHC) has accepted the bail plea of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Engineer Qamarul islam Raja in the Saaf Pani case.
An LHC bench comprising Justice Waqas Rauf and Justice Shahid Abbasi held the hearing on the bail plea.
Media reports said that the court accepted the bail plea of six accused in the Saaf Pani case, including Qamarul Islam.
The accused have been released against surety bonds.
Engineer Qamarul Islam has served as the chief executive officer of the Saaf Pani Company. He is accused of having awarded contracts for water treatment plants at a higher price. His predecessor Ajmal is also accused in the case.
Saaf Pani Company is one among 56 public limited companies formed by the PML-N government soon after assuming power in the province in 2013. All these companies are now being probed by NAB.
