QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jan, 2019 ) :Deputy Speaker Balochistan Assembly Sardar Babar Khan Musakhel Friday said media has been playing crucial role in promoting stability and democracy in Pakistan.

He expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of five-day training program organized by the Women Media Center Pakistan here today.

He said that provincial government was making all out efforts to formulate comprehensive policies for economic empowerment of women and youth.

He said that government has initiated recruitment process for appointing youth on 30,000 to 35000 vacant positions on basis of merit only, this will help in eliminating poverty from the province.

He lauded non-governmental organizations role in increasing the professional capacity of people associated with media in Balochistan including women.

He further said that majority of women in far flung areas of province are deprived of basic life amenities including education and health and not capable of decision making.

He urged journalist community to highlight the challenges Balochistan's women confronted with and apprise government officials and concerned authorities in this regard, for resolving their issues on priority.

Women and youth are the main shareholders of the Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf's (PTI) movement of change, he added.

While expressing satisfaction over increasing participation of Balochistan's women in politics, He said "gaining 10,000 votes on a general seat in 2018 elections by former Speaker Balochistan Assembly Raheela Durrani and 80% of votes casted by women in the backward and rural area like Musakhel, is an inspiring development and an evidence of women's dynamic role in the decision-making process.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is fully determined for Balochistan's socio-economic development and taking serious measures to remove feelings of deprivation from Baloch people and providing them maximum job opportunities.

He said that due to improper utilization of development funds in the past, poor citizens are still crying for provision of basic facilities at their door steps.

Earlier, Fauzia Shaheen Executive Director Women Media Center while addressing the ceremony said that over 3000 women journalists across Pakistan trained for reporting in social, economic and political sectors.

In this regard school of Journalism has also been established in Karachi.
