Seminar On 'Women Empowerment' Held: Mayor Of Sukkur, Arslan Shaikh

Mayor of Sukkur, Arslan Shaikh has said that no nation can progress without the empowerment of women.
SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2018 ) :Mayor of Sukkur, Arslan Shaikh has said that no nation can progress without the empowerment of women. 'Today, women are making great strides in every field and they are serving on top posts.
He stated this while addressing a seminar on 'Women Empowerment' in connection with the International Women's Day at District Council Sukkur on Wednesday.
He said that some years back women were working only in the health and education fields but today female participation can be seen in every field.
The Mayor said that 52 percent of Pakistan's population is women and for sustainable development we cannot ignore this segment of the society. Earlier, Azra Jamal, Zeenat Bhanbhro, Zahida Khatoo and others also spoke on the occasion. Women rights activists, civil society representatives and a large number of citizens attended the seminar.
