Senate Body Expresses Disappointment Over JENCOs Power

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jan, 2017 ) : Sub-Committee of the Senate Standing Committee on Water and Power on Friday expressed disappointment over power generation gap of JENCOs plants.
The committee met here at Parliament House under the chairmanship of its convener Senator Nauman Wazir Khattak. Member of the committee Senator Nisar Muhammad also attended the meeting. The committee questioned as to why JENCOs plants are in a loss and asked the ministry to explain the scheduled maintenance of these plants was done on on time or not.
It directed the ministry to present detailed report of JENCOs in next meeting.
The committee in its observation said that how IPPs are doing well but whats wrong with JENCOs. Convener of the committee said that the issue of loadshedding could be resolved if these JENCO plants worked efficiently.
He said that the generation gap is over 43 per cent this time but if these plants are properly maintained they can produce more power. The committee expressed reservation over the absence of CEO Nandipur project in the meeting. It also decided to visit Nandipur project site soon after the next meeting. The committee decided to hold its next meeting specifically on Nandipur project.
