Show-cause Notices Issued To 7 PML-N Leaders For Violating Election Code Of Conduct

District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Rawalpindi Dr Umer Jahangir Wednesday issued show-cause notices to seven PML-N leaders for violating the election code of conduct while participating in the car rally of Capt (Retd) Muhammad Safdar prior to his arrest by a National Accountability Bureau team in connection with his conviction in the Avenfield property reference.
RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jul, 2018 ) :District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Rawalpindi Dr Umer Jahangir Wednesday issued show-cause notices to seven PML-N leaders for violating the election code of conduct while participating in the car rally of Capt (Retd) Muhammad Safdar prior to his arrest by a National Accountability Bureau team in connection with his conviction in the Avenfield property reference.
According to the notices, the rally organizers did not take prior permission from the district administration, which was mandatory according to the code of conduct announced by Election Commission of Pakistan.
As the sections 32, 40 and 41 of the code of conduct did not allow to hold a car rally but Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidates including Malik Shakeel Awan from PP-18, Daniyal Chaudhary from NA-62, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi from NA-60, Senator Chaudhary Tanveer Khan, Sheikh Arslan Hafeez, candidate from PP-16, Malik Ibrar Ahmed, candidate NA-61 and Raja Hanif Advocate, candidate for PP-17, participated in the illegal rally taken out on July 8 and violated the code of conduct, the DMO observed.
