Supreme Court Seeks Compensation Plan From Ufone For Labourers Killed In Balochistan

The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday sought a complete compensation plan from cellular service provider Ufone, for families of six labourers, who were gunned down while fixing a company's tower in Liji, Balochistan
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2018 ) :The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday sought a complete compensation plan from cellular service provider Ufone, for families of six labourers, who were gunned down while fixing a company's tower in Liji, Balochistan.
A two-member SC bench comprising Justice Umar Atta Bandial and Justice Ijazul Ahsan, was hearing a suo moto notice on the killing of labourers belonging to Okara in Balochistan on May 3. During the course of proceedings, the counsel for Ufone informed the court that the company would pay Rs 20,000 per month, besides educational expenses of the children, to the widows of three labourers while the families of the rest three would be paid Rs 1 million each.
To a bench's query, the counsel said the labourer, who was injured in the attack, had been shift ed to a hospital in Lahore for better treatment. The Advocate General Balochistan apprised the court that the provincial government would also compensate the bereaved families according to its policy and he would share the details on next date of hearing.
The court adjourned the case till May 17, seeking a complete financial compensation plan from the respondents.
