The Senate Approves The Cyber Crime Bill

Islamabad,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29 July,2016) : The senate has passed the Cyber Crime Bill, ‘The Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act’. The Senate also recommended 50 amendments in the bill.
The bill will be sent to National Assembly where the members will discuss the recommended amendments.
State Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman said on the occasion that the implementation of the Cyber Crime Bill is the sole responsibility of the Interior Ministry.
Elaborating further, she said: “The law includes a total of 21 offences that can be imposed on the activity on the internet.” She also added that the government has put in all efforts to ensure that government agencies and officials are not able to misuse the law.
