
Unhygienic Conditions At Bari Imam Market Causing Health Problems

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Augst,2016) : The polluted environment and unhygienic conditions at Bari Imam market are causing environmental and health problems for both the buyers and the sellers. The residents of the locality said that thousands of people visit this place and it is essential to keep it clean and beautiful. Momin Shah Bokhari said that unhygienic condition of the Bari Imam Market was keeping the shoppers away from the market.
He said that vendors also find it hard to sell their products due to polluted environment. Adeel Amir another resident said that the concerned authorities never visit market to ensure cleanliness and healthy atmosphere. A shopkeeper at the Bari Imam market said that the market is in shabby condition and the authorities concerned should take stern action into this matter.
A visitor said that the food restaurants and stalls, available in the locality, are selling unhygienic food, posing health-related problem.
An official of ICT Health Directorate said that they had raided the hotels in the locality and also fined them time and again. He said that they are monitoring all the markets to ensure food quality. An official of Capital Development Authority (CDA) said that the concerned staff of the civic body look after the market and routinely visit the site.
He said that CDA was committed to keeping the capital and adjacent areas clean.
