23rd National Junior Swimming Championship Begins

The 23rd edition of the National Junior Age Group Swimming Championship got underway with Sindh leading the opening day medal tally by grabbing five gold medal, two silver and three bronze medal here at Adil Khan Swimming Pool on Friday.
PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Oct, 2018 ) :The 23rd edition of the National Junior Age Group Swimming Championship got underway with Sindh leading the opening day medal tally by grabbing five gold medal, two silver and three bronze medal here at Adil Khan Swimming Pool on Friday.
MNA Shoukat Ali was the chief guest on this occasion who formally inaugurated the Championship in which more than 120 players from Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are taking part. President KP Swimming Association Asif Orakzai, Secretary Salahuddin Ahmad, Member Executive Committee of the Pakistan Swimming Federation Veena Malik, players, officials and large number of spectators were also present.
On the opening day of the various events Sindh dominated with five gold medals, two silver medals and three bronze medals, Punjab remained at second with three gold medals, five silver medals and four bronze medals while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Maaz Khan took the only silver medal.
In the 200m Free style Under-16 Sindh players comprising Hamza, Ayaz, Zeeshan and Muneeb got first position, followed by Adeel, Abdullah, Shayan and Abdul Hanan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team including Usman, Maaz, Hamza and Fahad got bronze medal.
In the 50m free style Ayan of Sindh got first position with gold medal by clocking at time 0.27.05sec, followed by Maaz with 0.28.22sec and Adeel Razzaq of Punjab with 0.28.69sec.
In the 400m free style Under-16 Zeeshan Abbas got first position, followed by Ayan Asif and Shayan Sohail, in the 100m Butterfly Under-12 Amnan Siddique got first position, followed by Salman Babar of Punjab and Hamza Asif of Punjab.
In the 100m Breaststroke Under-14, Danyal Ghulam Nabi got first position, followed by Zain Younis of Punjab and Saif Baig Muhammad of Sindh respectively.
In the 200m Free Style Under-14 Danyal Ghulam Nabi of Punjab got first position, followed by Khawjah Feroz Khalid of Punjab. In the 200m Back Stroke Under-14 Muhammad Hassan of Punjab got first position, followed by Asfandiyar Khan and Abdullah Bangali of Sindh.
