DG Sports KP Seen Off Squash Team For US Junior Squash

Promising Laiba Ahmad along with other players Wednesday departed to represent Pakistan in the forthcoming US 2018 Junior Open Squash Championship to be commencing from Dec 15-18, at Boston, USA.
Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junaid Khan seen off the team members including Laiba Ahmed and expressed the hope that they would give too result. President Olympic Association from recently merged tribal districts Shahid Khan Shinwari, Director Youth Aziz Ullah Jan, Director Development Naimat Ullah Khan Marwat, Hamid Khan and other officials of the Directorate of Sports KP were also present.
Speaking to the selected team, Junaid Khan who extended financial assistant to all the 14 players under the KP Govt Sports Scholarship Program for providing international exposure to the players of various games, said that there is no dearth of talent but suck talented players needs proper exposures that is why the govt introduced international scholarship for talented players.
He also announced that those having performances in the event would be awarded cash incentives. He urged upon the players to keep their moral high and struggled hard to win back name and fame for the motherland.
He said Pakistan ruled the world of squash for 37 long years and a small village Nawa Khali produced seven world champions.
He said now work on grassroots level could give due boost to the players besides provision of international exposures.
Junaid Khan said that international exposure is vital for bringing back the talented players to the main stream of talent. He said without international exposure we could not progress. He said the provincial govt introduced sports scholarship so that the players could actively participate in the education. He said the decision of providing scholarship to the talented players to participate in the international events would certainly benefit.
Shahid Khan Shinwari on this occasion lauded DG Sports Junaid Khan for extending financial support to all 14 players hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the PTI govt has introduced such steps which are producing results both at national and international levels.
He said that the opening ceremony of the Tabdeele Football Super League would be organized in January next year wherein top teams would participate from across the country. He said preparations in connection have already underway. He also thanked DG Sports KP for his support in the event. He also presented a playing shirt to DG Sports of the Tabdeele Football Super League. He also distributed tracksuit among all the squash players departedto USA.
