Muqadas, Komal, Saima, Noor Entered Into National Red Crescent Squash Semi-finals

In form Muqadas Ashraf, current Under-19 Champion Komal Khan, Saima Shoukat, all from Pakistan Wapda and Noor Ul Ain Huda of Sui Northern Gas Pipe Line took berth into the semi-finals after recording victories against their respective rivals in the National Red Crescent Women Squash Championship being played here at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Friday
Member Executive Committee and Head of the Blue Tone Squash academy Wazir Gul was the chief guest on this occasion and before the start of the quarter-final matches the players were introduced to him. Former World Champion Qamar Zaman, Chief Referee Pakistan Squash Federation Munawar Zaman, players and spectators were also present.
Muqadas Ashraf was in the excellent form as she defeated Hir Aqeel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the straight sets, the score was 11-5, 11-3 and 11-6. Muqadas did not face any hardship what so ever in the three sets and marched to easy victory against her young rival Hira Aqeel.
Hira Aqeel did some resistance, specially in the third set where she staged a comeback and tied the tally 6-6 but Muqadas Ashraf who recently represented Pakistan in the International Squash Championship in UK, managed her position accordingly and did not give Hira a chance to maneuver.
In the second quarter-final currently Under-19 Champion Komal Khan recorded straight sets victory against Noor Ul Ain Ejaz of Sui Northern Gas Pipe Line, the score was 11-8, 11-5 and 12-10. Komal Khan, also hailing from Peshawar, played well against her tough rival Noor Ul Ain Ejaz. She got the first two sets very easily but faced tough resistance against Noor. Both were stretched to 12-10 with Komal saved two match point despite hitting the tin twice at 7-7 and 8-8.
In the third quarter-final former National Champion Saima Shoukat of Wapda defeated Nimra Aqeel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 11-3, 11-7 and 11-5 while Noor Ul Huda (SNGPL) stunned Rushna Mehboob of ZTBL in a marathon four sets battle. The score was 11-6, 11-7, 7-11 and 11-4. Now Muqadas Ashraf of Wapda will face Komal Khan of Wapda in the first semi-final and Saima Shoukat will clash against Noor Ul Huda of SNGPL in the second semi-final to be played on Saturday.
