Pakistan players lose US Junior Squash finals, PSF raises concern at refereeing

Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has raised its concerns on the refereeing during finals of US Junior Squash Championship, that took place the other day at Philips Academy, Boston.

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Dec, 2018 ) :Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has raised its concerns on the refereeing during finals of US Junior Squash Championship, that took place the other day at Philips academy, Boston.

In the event finals, Pakistan's promising players Humam Ahmad won silver medal in U-13 by losing to Rohan A Gondhi of India with a game score of 4-11, 12-10, 10-12, 12-10 and 9-11, whereas Muhammad Hamza Khan also claimed silver medal in U-15 category, conceding defeat to Carney Tedd from USA with a game score of 11-7, 8-11, 6-11 and 7-11.

"Both the Pakistani players have informed PSF that refereeing was not up to the mark and had flaws", said a spokesman of Pakistan Squash Federation in a statement.

"The players have further claimed that few of referee decisions were not entirely fair. Both the players have protested against poor refereeing during the event and requested US Squash that the refereeing standard should be improved in future to save players from any further loss", the spokesman added.

Meanwhile, President PSF, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan and Senior Vice President Air Marshal Shahid Akhtar Alvi have appreciated performance ofPakistani players in the Championship and congratulated them on displaying outstandinggame and producing results.
