Seawolves, Raptors To Clash In Inaugural MLR Final

Los Angeles, July 1 (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jul, 2018 ) :The Seattle Seawolves defeated the San Diego Legion 38-24 on Saturday to punch their ticket to the inaugural Major League Rugby championship game where they will face the Glendale Raptors.
Sequoyah Burke-Combs and John Hayden scored back-to-back tries just five minutes apart as the Seawolves overcame a couple of slow starts to begin each half at Infinity Park in Glendale, Colorado.
In the other semi-final Saturday, the Glendale Raptors improved to 8-1 on the season as they held on to beat the Utah Warriors 34-21.
William Rasileka, Peter Tiberio and Shalom Suniula also scored tries for the Seawolves.
The two teams also met in the first week of the season with Seattle winning that one as well 39-23.
San Diego committed 14 penalties and earned two yellow cards while Seattle only committed seven penalties and no yellow cards.
Peter Smith kicked a conversion in the 63rd minute to level the score at 17-17. But Tiberio finished off a long run for a try just three minutes later as the Seawolves seized control of the game.
Seattle struck again with tries from Burke-Combs and Hayden in the 74th and 79th minute respectively.
The championship game will take place on July 7 at Torero Stadium in San Diego.
