Sports Enhance Youth's Mental And Physical Growth Said Secretary BBISE

Secretary Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Quetta Shaukat Ali Sarpara on Friday said that sports and games are the ways of enhancing the youths' mental and physical growth.

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Dec, 2018 ) :Secretary Balochistan board of Intermediate and Secondary education Quetta Shaukat Ali Sarpara on Friday said that sports and games are the ways of enhancing the youths' mental and physical growth.

Sports help them in character building and provides them energy and strength.

He expressed these views while addressing an inauguration ceremony of "Inter-colleges Cricket Championship 2018". The ceremony was also attended by College principals and lecturers. He said that about 12 college teams from Jaffarabad and Sibi preparing to participate in this cricket tournament.

He said for the first time in the history, Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE) organizing sports event for Balochistan's youth.

He said that the growing popularity of computer, video games and television makes the children very inactive in their lifestyles. The time spent in these things may be spent in some physical activities.

He announced that players showing good performance in the tournament will be given opportunity to play in national level tournaments.

He further said that participation in organized sports offers the chance for youth to enhance their physical and social skills. Sports offer children a change from the monotony of their daily life. It is also a useful means of entertainment and physical activity for them, he added.

"Parents should be a role model for their children. If the parents are looking very active, the children are more likely to be more active and will stay active for the rest of their life", he remarked.

Later, Secretary BISE appreciated the PT Scouts performance shown by Government Special High school children and donated Rs. 10,000 to School principal for the welfare of the students.

The inaugural match was won by Inter College Bhaag with 34 runs, during batting Inter College Bhaag scored 114 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Inter College Dera Allahyar scored only 80 runs.
