Spring Sports Festival Soon: Punjab Sports Minister Jahangir Khanzada

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jahangir Khanzada has said that Punjab government will hold competitions in Spring Festival 2018 to promote marching bands in the country.
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2018 ) :Punjab Minister for sports and Youth Affairs Jahangir Khanzada has said that Punjab government will hold competitions in Spring Festival 2018 to promote marching bands in the country.
He expressed these views while addressing at the unveiling ceremony of special documentary of 'Band, Baja and Pakistan' at Al-Hamra Art Complex here on Tuesday. The ceremony was held under the aegis of Tourism Development Corporation (TDCP).
Secretary Sports Punjab Muhammad Aamir Jan, Managing Director Tourism and Development Corporation Ahmer Malik, Chairman Marching Aman Band Dr Saad Sikandar and other officials were also present in the ceremony.
Jahangir Khanzada said in present day world, marching bands have turned into Ambassadors of Peace. "It has been our tradition to celebrate our historic festivals with full fervor.
The marching bands have also great significance in our traditional festivities.
Our youth is quite passionate and we know how to celebrate our festivals," he asserted. Secretary Sports Punjab Muhammad Aamir Jan on the occasion vowed to extend every kind of cooperation for the promotion of marching bands.
"The marching bands are an important part of our culture and we are making effective endeavour to promote our cultural values. The traditional games and festivals are our identity," he added. Later, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jahangir Khanzada announced prizes of Rs 10 thousand each on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for seven band holders for their excellent performances.
He also distributed appreciation certificates among producer of documentary and TDCP officers.
