Zarghoona, Talha Declared Best Athlete In Ramzan Athletic Meet

Zarghoona Khan and Talha have declared as best athlete of the Annual Ramzan Junior and Senior Athletic Meet organized by the Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhunkhawa here at the Tartan Track of Qayyum Sports Complex on Tuesday.
PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jun, 2018 ) :Zarghoona Khan and Talha have declared as best athlete of the Annual Ramzan Junior and Senior Athletic Meet organized by the Directorate of sports Khyber Pakhunkhawa here at the Tartan Track of Qayyum Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junaid Khan was the chief guest on this occasion who gave away medals, trophies and cash prizes to the position holders.
Organizing Secretary and international athletic coach Syed Jaffar Shah, former international athlete Muhammad Shah, national athlete Muhammad Saqib and athletic coach Zafran Afridi and large number of athletes and spectators were also present.
Besides athletic, players are taking part in Football, Hockey, Table Tennis and Badminton.
Zarghoona and Talha claimed gold medals in the 60m and 80m Junior's categories and were declared as the best athletes of the Meet-2018.
In the first race of 80m Zarghoona claimed gold medal, followed by Faheena Naqeeb and Warisha Khan with silver and bronze medals respectively. In the Boys 80m Talha and Muhammad Afridi jointly declared as declared the winners, followed by Sangeen Shah and Shanan.
In the girls 60m Zarghoona claimed gold medal, followed by Faheena Naqeeb and Warisha Khan. In the second 80m race Zarghoona claimed another gold medal, followed by Shafia and Hina. In the Boys 100m race Wahood Khan claimed gold medal, followed by Hammad and Shahzaib Junaid while in the Girls 100m Waisha won gold medal, followed by Iqra Zohaib and Mehab Areeba.
In the Boys 100m Talha grabbed his third gold medal after winning gold medals in 60m and 80m races, followed by Zohaib and Usman Khan. In the race participated by the parents in Parents category Hina Khan won the walk race in women and Shahzaib secured first position in 100m.
In the Under-12 category boys Muneeb Ullah won gold medal in the 50m, followed by Umair and Atal, in the girls 50m of the same category Hina claimed gold medal, followed by Iqra and Sidra while in the boys 50m Asif won gold medal, Shahab and Mudasir claimed silver medal and bronze medals respectively.
In the Boys 60m race Rafi Ullah claimed gold medal, followed by Muhammad Rehman and Yousaf Arif.
In the Senior category 4X100m relay Asad, Bilal, Azat and Abid Ali got first position, followed by Ihtisham, Nouman, Jehanzeb and Osama and Salman, Manzoor, Rehan and Paras Ahmad got second and third position respectively.
In the 100m race Muhammad Sami got first position, followed by Qasim and Jehanzeb while in the 4X200m relay race Luqman, Shehzad, Asif and Wahab took first position, followed by Sohail, Qari Murad, Paris John and Abdul and Ayub, Naeem, Fawad Khan and Zahoor took third position.
In the Table Tennis event Ummam Khawjah claimed the trophy after defeating Haseeb in the final of the Two-day Ramzan Table Tennis Tournament organized by the Directorate of Sports KP. The score was 11-7, 11-8 and 11-9. In the girl final Khatijah defeated Afia by 3-1, the score was 10-12, 11-9, 11-7 and 11-5 while in the Junior boys category Maaz beat Arabia by 3-0, the score was 11-8, 11-9 and 11-5. Shayan and Aziz took got third and fourth position respectively. Secretary KP Table Tennis Association Kifayat Ullah Khan, Chairman Malik Tahir Awan and Sheraz Ali Shah of the Bank of Khyber were also present.
In the Hockey event played at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium Peshawar Tigers and Peshawar Green secured victories against their respective rivals on the opening day. Director General Sports Junaid Khan, newly elected President of KP Hockey Association Syed Zahir Shah, Secretary Haji HidayatUllah, coaches Zia Binori and Yasir islam were also present.
Peshawar Tigers defeated Peshawar Dolphen by 3-2 before both were tied 2-2 at the second of second quarters game and Peshawar Green recorded victory against Peshawar Red by 3-0 and moved to the next round.
