Barr Set To Detail Russia Report Redaction Process, White House Contacts - Spokesperson

US Attorney General William Barr's news conference on Thursday will reveal details about the Justice Department's contacts with the White House ahead of the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's final report on his Russia investigation, US media reported
The attorney general will address three main issues - what interactions the Justice Department had with the White House in recent weeks, the steps undertaken during the redaction process and whether executive privilege was invoked, Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec said, according to a CNN report.
Barr's news conference is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.
m. EST.
The redacted report is expected to provide more details of Mueller's 22-month investigation on allegations of Russian meddling during the 2016 US presidential election and collusion with President Donald Trump, but it will not include grand jury information, sensitive intelligence details, materials related to ongoing prosecutions, and details that could damage the reputation of an innocent person, the Attorney General said earlier.
Russian officials have said the allegations were made up to excuse the election loss of Trump's opponent as well as deflect public attention from actual instances of election fraud and corruption.
