Boy Charged With Killing Polish Man In English Town

LONDON, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd Dec, 2016 ) : A 15-year-old boy has been charged with killing a Polish factory worker in the town of Harlow near London, prosecutors said Thursday.
The fatal attack on Arkadiusz Jozwik, 39, happened outside a row of takeaway shops in Harlow on August 27. He died in hospital two days later. The police at the time said hate crime was being looked into as a possible motive behind the fatal attack, two months after Britain voted to leave the European Union.
Poland's foreign and interior ministers flew to Britain following the killing and two Polish officers joined British police on patrol in Harlow.
But the charge indicates that the Crown Prosecution Service is not treating it as a hate crime.
"We have today advised Essex Police to charge a 15-year-old youth from Harlow with the manslaughter of Arkadiusz Jozwik," said Paul Scothern of the CPS. "Following early investigative advice from the reviewing lawyer, the police decided to take no further action in relation to five other youths who were at the scene." The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at Chelmsford Youth Court in Essex on January 6.
