BEIJING, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Sep, 2018 ) :The Chinese government expressed support Wednesday for the latest set of inter-Korean summit agreements, saying the agreements constitute an "important" shared perception on denuclearization and other pending issues.
The two Koreas reached "new and important common ground" through this week's summit in Pyongyang on improving bilateral ties, reducing military tensions and ridding the peninsula of nuclear weapons, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang said at a press briefing.
He was referring to the summit deal between President Moon Jae-in and the North's leader Kim Jong-un following two days of negotiations.
"We welcome it and highly appreciate active efforts by the two sides," he said. Peace, prosperity, reconciliation and cooperation are shared desires by Koreans and people in neighboring countries, he pointed out.
As a country on the doorstep of Korea, he added, China is constantly supportive of improving bilateralrelations and seeking cooperation through dialogue and talks.
