EU Issues New National Greenhouse Gas Emissions Targets

BRUSSELS,(APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th july,2016) - The European Union on Wednesday proposed new national targets to dramatically cut greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 to meet the bloc's goal pledged at the Paris climate summit. The plans for the 28 EU member states put the biggest onus on Sweden, Luxembourg, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Britain, France and Austria as the bloc seeks to meet its commitment to cut emissions by 40 percent over 1990 levels.
