Local Rapper Killed In Shooting In Downtown Ottawa - Reports

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 09th June, 2019) A man, later identified as a local rapper, was shot dead in the Canadian capital in the late hours of Friday, while seeking to defend his daughter from a group of men assaulting her, local media reported on Saturday.
According to the CTV news broadcaster, the shooting took place at the ByWard Market, which is considered to be one of the city attractions.
The man was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has been identified as Markland Anthony Campbell, 41, a member of local hip-hop band Halfsizegiants.
A 18-year-old suspect in the case has been arrested, the Ottawa Citizen newspaper reported, citing city councilor Mathieu Fleury.
The official said that Campbell "was rushing to defend his 18-year-old daughter's dignity after she called to say she was being assaulted by a couple of men."
