CHISINAU (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th February, 2019) Four political parties have managed to secure seats in the Moldovan parliament, while the Party of Socialists is leading with 30.4 percent of the vote via party lists, preliminary results of the Sunday parliamentary elections published by the Central Electoral Commission showed.
As 10 percent of the ballots have been counted, the ruling Democratic Party has gained 30.29 percent.
The two leading parties are followed by the electoral bloc ACUM and the SOR Party with 19.79 percent and 10.7 percent respectively.
Earlier, when only 3 percent of the ballots were counted, it was the Democratic Party that was leading with 32.4 percent of the vote via party lists.
Following the closure of the polling stations, Moldova's main political parties have disagreed in their assessments of the parliamentary election.
The pro-European opposition bloc ACUM previously said that they refuse to recognize the results of the election in the Transnistrian single-mandate Constituencies and later called the parliamentary elections the "most undemocratic in history of Moldova." The ruling party, meanwhile, maintained that the vote was "free and democratic," despite minor irregularities which, according to it, would not affect the election outcome.
The Party of Socialists, in turn, said that it would decide whether to recognize the vote or not once it systematized the data on irregularities that it registered.
