MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th January, 2019) Russia's Rocket and Space Corporation Energia will introduce to Roscosmos space agency later on Monday the project of the lunar modification of Soyuz spacecraft, which the manufacturer is designing at NASA request, a source told Sputnik.

Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin said on Thursday that NASA had requested Russia to create a version of the Soyuz MS spacecraft that could take space missions to the Moon as a backup space transport system.

"RSC Energia will present today in Roscosmos the project of Soyuz spacecraft and all relevant technical calculations for lunar missions," the source said.
