MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th February, 2019) The Russian capital will host the third intra-Palestinian meeting on Monday-Wednesday.
The meeting will be held at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian academy of Sciences, according to Russian Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
She also pointed out that Moscow had proposed to hold such an inclusive intra-Palestinian meeting as it believed that the unity within the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) was needed to reach progress in settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
According to the Russian party, a total of 10 Palestinian movements will be represented in the Moscow negotiations.
Participants of negotiations will be received by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
In 2007, a deadly conflict between Fatah, then dominating party in Palestine, and the Hamas Islamist movement resulted in the split of the Palestinian Authority and Hamas taking over the Gaza Strip. The West Bank is still controlled by Fatah.
