Russia, Israel Military Discuss Work Of Bilateral Channel On Incident Prevention -Ministry

Russian and Israeli defense officials have discussed operation of the bilateral communications channel between the Russian Hmeimim airbase in Syria and the Israeli Air Force to prevent incidents, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th December, 2018) Russian and Israeli defense officials have discussed operation of the bilateral communications channel between the Russian Hmeimim airbase in Syria and the Israeli Air Force to prevent incidents, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

"During the talks, [the parties discussed] topical security issues of the middle East region, the situation in Syria, as well as the functioning of a direct communication channel between the Russian Hmeimim airbase and the Israeli Air Force Command Center to prevent dangerous incidents threatening lives of Russian and Israeli soldiers. The agreement has been reached to continue contacts," the ministry said in a statement.
