Russia To Send 60 More Military Advisers, Military Equipment To Central African Republic

Moscow is planning to continue helping the Central African Republic in rebuilding its national armed forces by sending 60 more military advisers and a second batch of military supplies to the African country, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Monday.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd October, 2018) Moscow is planning to continue helping the Central African Republic in rebuilding its national armed forces by sending 60 more military advisers and a second batch of military supplies to the African country, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Monday.
"Based on traditional friendship and cooperation between Moscow and Bangui, Russia has decided to provide free-of-charge military-technical assistance to the partners,� which is carried out in strict compliance with the requirements of the UN Security Council sanctions regime," the ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, Moscow supplied the car army in the beginning 2018 with a batch of small arms and ammunition while sending 175 military advisers to train CAR servicemen. Up to 1,000 CAR military personnel has received the necessary training by Russian instructors so far.
"We intend to continue to provide Bangui with the necessary assistance in rebuilding national armed forces. With the approval of the relevant UN Security Council Committee we are planning sent 60 additional Russian advisers and the second batch of military equipment to the CAR," the statement said.
