Russian Deputy Prime Minister Starting Visit To Damascus, To Meet With Assad - Office

DAMASCUS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th April, 2019) Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov and Syrian President Bashar Assad will discuss trade and economic cooperation in Damascus on Saturday, Borisov's office told Sputnik.

Borisov is the chairman of the Russian-Syrian intergovernmental commission from the Russian side.

"During the working visit to Damascus, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov will meet with Syrian President Bashar Assad. After this, a meeting is scheduled with deputy chairman of the Syrian Council of Ministers, Foreign Minister... and chairman of the Syrian part of the bilateral intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, Walid Muallem," the office said.

It said the sides were expected to discuss a wide range of issues of trade and economic cooperation.
