MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th December, 2018) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday that the Ukrainian government had all features of a Nazi or neo-Nazi regime, in response to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko's claim of a war between the two nations.
"We are not at war with the Ukrainian regime.
Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine in Donbas are fighting the Ukrainian regime, which has all the hallmarks of a Nazi and neo-Nazi regime," Lavrov told the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio.
Poroshenko made the remark in a comment to Fox news on last month's capture in the Kerch Strait of three Ukrainian naval ships who entered Russian waters illegally and ignored warnings to stop.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said the sea clash was plotted by the Ukrainian government ahead of this spring's presidential voting to shore up Poroshenko's slumping approval ratings.
