RIO DE JANEIRO, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th August, 2016) - Defending champion Yi Siling safely made it through qualifying Saturday for the women's 10m air rifle title, the first gold medal at the Rio Olympics. The Chinese shooter was joined in the final 10 by her compatriot Du Li, the Athens 2004 champion.
But Serbian duo Andrea Arsovic and Ivana Maksomovic, who were both rated major dangers to Yi's title defence, failed to make the cut. The contest, the first gold medal on offer at the Rio Games, was due to start at 1030 local time (1330 GMT).
