At least six civilians were injured in an explosion that occurred near the Afghan Communications Ministry in downtown Kabul on Saturday morning, local media reported citing local authorities.

Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry, said that the incident involved three suicide bombers who attacked the ministry's post office building, according to the 1TV broadcaster.
Police surrounded the area, while officers from a crisis response unit arrived at the site, the tv channel reported.
The blast occurred a day after a planned meeting between Afghan politicians and Taliban officials in Qatar was canceled.
Afghanistan has long been gripped by war and political instability, but the two main rivals, the Afghan government and the Taliban, have been making efforts toward achieving peace by holding indirect talks.
