Syrian Soldier Injured In Militant Shelling Of Aleppo - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd January, 2019) A Syrian soldier was wounded as a result of shelling by militants of the city of Aleppo over the past 24 hours, head of the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Syrian Reconciliation Lt. Gen. Sergei Solomatin said on Monday.

"Over the past 24 hours, in the Idlib de-escalation zone, militants shelled ... Sukkari district of the city of Aleppo.

One soldier of the Syrian Armed Forces was injured as a result of militant shelling of Aleppo's Burayj district," Solomatin said.

The Center for Syrian Reconciliation delivered 500 food baskets to the village of Alma in Deraa province over the past 24 hours, Solomatin added.

Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations. Russia along with Turkey and Iran are guarantors of the ceasefire regime in Syria.
