US Treasury Adviser Charged With Leaking Info On Russian Diplomats' Transactions - Filing

A senior US Treasury Department employee has been charged with illegally disclosing to the media suspicious activity reports (SARs) about transactions made by Russian diplomats and Russia's alleged involvement in 2016 presidential election campaign, according to a court document released on Wednesday.
WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th October, 2018) A senior US Treasury Department employee has been charged with illegally disclosing to the media suspicious activity reports (SARs) about transactions made by Russian diplomats and Russia's alleged involvement in 2016 presidential election campaign, according to a court document released on Wednesday.

knowingly disclosed and described SARs, which she obtained by virtue of her position as a Senior Adviser at the United States Treasury Department," said the document filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. "The data in the Second August 2018 Article [titled "Why the FBI and Mueller Are Investigating 'Suspicious' Transactions Made by Russian Diplomats] was obtained from SARs."
