Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will pay an official visit to North Korea on February 12-14, the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry said Monday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th February, 2019) Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will pay an official visit to North Korea on February 12-14, the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry said Monday.

"At the invitation of HE. Mr. Ri Yong-ho, Foreign Minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, DPM/@FMPhamBinhMinh will pay an official visit to North Korea from February 12-14," the ministry's spokesperson said via Twitter.

The second summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un is set to be held in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi on February 27-28.

The situation on the Korean Peninsula has improved significantly over the past year after Seoul and Pyongyang concluded important agreements calling for peace and stability in the region, and Kim and Trump held a historic summit in Singapore in June 2018.
