Intesa, Gazprom Discussing Financing Of Nord Stream-2 - Board Chairman Fallico

Italian banking group Intesa continues to discuss with Russian energy giant Gazprom participation in financing the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, hoping that the project will not fall under US sanctions, Intesa board chairman Antonio Fallico told Sputnik

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th March, 2019) Italian banking group Intesa continues to discuss with Russian energy giant Gazprom participation in financing the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, hoping that the project will not fall under US sanctions, Intesa board chairman Antonio Fallico told Sputnik.

"As of today, no one has banned anything yet. I'm used to taking an umbrella when it starts raining, and not beforehand.

If there are any bans or something to interfere, we'll study these aspects," Fallico said in an interview on the sidelines of the "Connecting Eurasia - from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean" conference.

"We have relations with Gazprom, as they say, at 360 degrees. We have not discussed the possibility that this project will not be implemented. If a stupid thing is done and this project is also put on the black list, we will have to be realistic. But personally, I believe that this project will be implemented," he said.
