Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -9th Sept,2016) : Shipping activity remained active at the port where three ships C.V Mehun, M.V Tian Shan and M.T Genie carrying Containers, Project cargo and Furnace oil were berthed at Multi Purpose Terminal, Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday, 8th September-2016.

Meanwhile another Containers ship San Francisca also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was managed at 33% at the Port on Thursday where a total of five berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Mehun, M.V Bao Tong, M.V Tian Shan, M.T While PurI and M.T Genie to load/offload Containers, Coal, General cargo, LPG and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 69,998 tonnes, comprising 62,227 tonnes import cargo and 7,771 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 874 Containers (TEUs) (465 imports TUEs & 409 TUEs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Two ships, Container vessel Mehun and LPG carrier White PurI sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while another General cargo carrier Tian Shan is expected to sail same day afternoon. Three ships C.V San Francisca, C.V Hansa America and M.T Clipper Helen carrying Containers and Chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT and EVTL respectively on Friday, 8th September-2016.
