'Mayo Hospital Lahore Emergency Department To Be Transformed According To Int'l Standard'

Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Kh. Salman Rafiq and Secretary Najam Ahmad Shah visited the Emergency department of Mayo Hospital on Wednesday evening.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2018 ) :Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical education Kh. Salman Rafiq and Secretary Najam Ahmad Shah visited the Emergency department of Mayo Hospital on Wednesday evening.
They inspected all floors of the building and the adjacent area. The Minister and the Secretary also took a round of medical and surgical emergency wards and inquired about the health of patients.
On this occasion, Chief Executive Mayo Hospital Prof. Asad Aslam Khan, Medical Superintendent Dr. Tahir Khalil, VC KEMU Prof. Qazi Saeed, Prof. Ibrar Ashraf, Special Secretary Health Development Usman Muazzam, CPO Abdul Haq Bhatti, Internal Policy and Strategic Planning Unit Chief Prof.
Ahsan Waheed Rathore, consultant Ms. Aiman Majeed, team of PMU and the officers of C&W department were also present. After the visit, Kh. Salman Rafiq and Najam Ahmad Shah also held a meeting regarding revamping and redesigning of the building of Emergency department.
Najam Ahmad Shah appointed Prof. Dr. Ibrar Ashraf as project director for the revamping and redesigning of Emergency department. The Secretary directed that a PC-I should immediately be prepared for civil work of the revamping project.
He said that this redesigned building would be completed within six months and a timeline of work also be presented. He was of the view that within six months the Emergency department of Mayo Hospital would be transformed according to the international standard, equipped with all modern medical facilities.
He directed that CT Scan machine section should be given internal passage from the main building. He also directed that foolproof security arrangements, safe passage and all other facilities for the patients and their attendants be kept in mind while redesigning the building.
