Polio Eradication Campaign In Matiari From January 21

The Deputy Commissioner Matiari Pervez Ahmed Baloch has asked the officers concerned to launch massive polio eradication campaign in all talukas of the district and ensure hundred percent immunisation of under aged children.
Presiding over a meeting held on Thursday to review the arrangements of three day polio eradication campaign set to start from January 21, 2019, he underlined the need of effective coordination between all concerned departments adding that medical and paramedical staff as well as vaccinators should perform duty with dedication and devotion considering it the national cause.
He directed the officers of the health department to ensure the availability of vaccinators in all areas of the district and in case of failure, strict action should be taken against defaulters.
The meeting was informed that 1,60,000 children of under five years age will be vaccinated in all three talukas of the district during three day long campaign. A total of 440 mobile vaccination teams will carry out vaccination under supervision of 112 area incharges and 30 medical officers of the union councils. Besides, anti-polio drops will also be administered at 47 fixed points of the district.
Among others, the meeting was also attended by the WHO representative Dr. Santosh Kumar.
