Punjab Healthcare Commission imposes Rs 0.3m fine on lab for issuing wrong report

The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) Tuesday imposed Rs 0.3 million fine on a medical complex for issuing a wrong report.

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Oct, 2018 ) :The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) Tuesday imposed Rs 0.3 million fine on a medical complex for issuing a wrong report.

While investigating Sheraz Ahmed Jalib's complaint, the PHC also issued directions for writing to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for suspending services of the Iqra Medical Complex.

The complainant alleged that the Complex had issued him a wrong medical report, declaring him to be a patient of tuberculosis. Because of this, he failed to get a job in Saudi Arabia.

"Later on, test reports of other laboratories found him to be a healthy man," he claimed.

Upon finding complainant's allegation true, the Commission imposed Rs0.3 milllion fine on the Complex.

The PHC board also directed that a letter be written to the GCC, asking for suspending services of the Complex for medical examination.

Moreover, the GCC may be informed about the issues related to malpractice on the part of the Gulf approved medical centre, with specific reference to the complaints received at the PHC, and asked to take steps in this regard.
