Qasim Khan Soori Inaugurates Polio Immunization Drive By Administrating Anti Polio Drops To Children

Deputy Speaker National Qasim Khan Soori Monday inaugurated the four-day polio immunization drive by administering anti-polio drops to some children here at Parliament House.
Members of National Assembly, Prime Minister's focal person on Polio Eradication Babar Bin Atta, Coordinator The National Stop Polio Transmission Program (NSTOP), Brigadier Dr Kamal Soomro, Operational Coordinator World Health Organisation (WHO) and other officers of anti polio campaign were also present.
Speaking on the occasion Deputy Speaker said eradicating the menace of polio from the country was priority of the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, a press release said.
He said optimum resources would be utilized to rid the country of this menace. He urged the parents to ensure administering polio drops to their children below five years of age.
Brushing aside the impression that some polio drops ingredients were detrimental for health, he urged the nation to cooperate with the government in making the country polio free. He lauded the efforts of focal person and other staff in connection with eradication of polio.
