25 Kashmiris Facing Life Imprisonment In Various Jails

Almost 25 Kashmiris prisoners are facing life imprisonment in different jails in and outside of the occupied valley.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2018 ) :Almost 25 Kashmiris prisoners are facing life imprisonment in different jails in and outside of the occupied valley.
The 25 lifers include two top political leaders Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo and Dr Shafi Shariati.
Both Dr Fakhtoo and Dr Shariati have completed 25 years and 12 years of life in different jails respectively.
They had lodged in Srinagar Central Jail but were shifted to different jails of Jammu in March this year, KMS reported.
Dr Qasim Fakhtoo, who is husband of Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, has been lodged in District Jail, Udhampur, and Dr Shariati is languishing in Hiranagar jail in Kathua district.
Apart from Dr Qasim and Dr Shariati, 23 others facing life sentence in different jails include Javaid Ahmed Khan, Mirza Nisar Hussain, Ali Muhammad Butt, Lateef Ahmed Waza, Abdul Ghani Goni and Mehmood Topiwala who are in Delhi's Tihar jail for the last 21 years.
Ghulam Qadir Butt is in Srinagar Central Jail for last over two decades.
Similarly, others who are facing life imprisonment in Srinagar Central Jail are Ghulam Muhammad Butt (16 years), Feroz Ahmed Buttt (15 years), Parvez Ahmed Mir (15 years), Shaikh Imran (13 years), Muhammad Abbas Wani (11 years), Maqsood Ahmed Butt (11 years) and Farooq Ahmed Sheikh (10 years).
Barkat Ali Khan (15 years), Muhammad Iqbal Khan (15 years), Muhammad Sidiq Gujjar (15 years), Sai Muhammad Gujjar (15 years), Mehandia Gujjar (15 years) and Abdul Wahid Naik (15 years) are in Central Jail Jammu.
Two Kashmiris, Muhammad Aslam and Abdul Hamid Teli are in Central Jail Mumbai for the last 12 years while Bilal Ahmed Kuta has been languishing in Bangalore Central Jail for the past 11 years.
