10,348 ICT Police Personnel Trained In 109 Short Courses

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jan, 2017 ) : The government has arranged 109 short courses for Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police to strengthen capacity and preparedness to deal with law and order situation.
The best possible training facilities are being ensured for ICT Police within and outside the country as around 10348 personnel were trained through different courses during last four years (2013-16).
The courses included Lower school Course, Intermediate School Course, Bomb Disposal Course, Orientation Course, Basic and Advanced Investigation Course, Anti-Terrorist Course and Anti-Riot Course.
Data issued by Interior Division on Friday revealed that ICT police personnel are also sent for training at different training institutions.
ICT Police trained for Conducting of Mock Exercises, Establishment of Rapid Response Force (RRF), Monitoring through CCTV Cameras and Monitoring through Safe City Project.
The data said that during the period, 11 different basic courses for 1667 constables were arranged while eight promotions/exams/courses were conducted and number of trainees was 1419. Moreover, during the period mentioned, 6060 police personnel were trained in 27 different capacity building courses at PTS, 1122 personnel were trained in 63 courses arranged under International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Programme (ICITAP).
