44 Candidates Files Papers For Bye Polls For 5 District Council Seats Of Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD, Nov 21(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Nov, 2018 ) :As many as 44 candidates have filed nomination papers for contesting the local government bye elections against 5 seats of district council of Abbotabad, scheduled to be held on December 23.
The bye elections are due in Union Council Kakul, Namli Maira, Khatwal, Shaikul Bandi and Bakot.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Abbottabad region 8 candidates have filed papers for district council seat of Kakul, five for UC Khatwal, 14 for UC Namli Maira, 13 for UC Bakot and six for UC Shaikh ul Bandi while 3 candidates to run for the Tehsil Council Havelian seat of UC Jhangra.
The ECP fixed November 22 as the last day for the candidates to submit their nomination papers.
Political parties have yet not decided their candidates whereas the candidates are trying to convince their respective parties for the ticket.
They have also started door to door campaign, corner meetings. Interestingly besides local print media, like 2018 general elections the candidates are using social media to get the support and vote from their people.
According to the ECP schedule on November 23 list of candidates would be displayed. From 24th to 27th November scrutiny of the candidates would be completed and during 28th and 29th, November objection against the candidates would be accepted.
From November 30 to December 1 hearing of the appeals against the candidates would be conducted and on December 3, candidates can withdraw their nomination papers. On the same day elections symbols would also be allotted to the candidates and on December 4 final list of the candidate would be displayed.
The bye elections on vacant LG seats across KP would be held on December 23.
