8 Killed, 822 Injured In 854 Road Crashes In Punjab

Atleast eight people were killed while 822 sustained injuries in 854 road traffic accident in Punjab during last 24 hours
Out of total injured, 483 were seriously injured required shifting to different hospitals, whereas, 331 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site by rescue medical teams, said a spokesman for Rescue 1122 here on Wednesday.
The analysis showed that 359 drivers, 29 juvenile drivers, 124 pedestrians and 339 passengers were among the victims of these road accidents. The statistics further revealed that 204 accidents were reported in Lahore which affected 208 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 60 in Faisalabad with 78 victims and Multan at third with 60 crashes and 64 victims.
As many as, 586 motorcycles, 126 rickshaws, 75 cars, 39 vans, 12 buses, 28 trucks and 102 other vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in these accidents.
