AIOU Launches 8 Schemes For Deserving Students

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Oct, 2016 ) : Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has launched eight fee concession and scholarship schemes worth Rs 160 million to accommodate poor and needy students in ongoing admissions.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui said that the schemes includes Earn to Learn Scheme, Scholarship for Communities, Merit scholarship Scheme, Scholarship for Women, Outreach Scholarship Scheme, Fee Installment Scheme, Final Year Project Grant Scheme and Alumni/Sponsored scholarship in a statement issued here on Wednesday.

The admissions in AIOU would continue till Oct 10.

The financial support would be provided to poor and needy students, enabling them to meet their educational expenses. The beneficiaries would include the students unable to meet educational expenses and deserve financial support from the state.

The AIOU, he said it is being ensured that nobody should be deprived from educational facility owing to financial constraints. Efforts have been made to accommodate all the deserving and talented students. The deserving students have been advised to contact the nearest Regional Campuses to get benefit of these schemes before the closing of admissions' date.
