Anyone Involved In Corruption To Face Music: Sheikh Rashid

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jan, 2019 ) :Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Wednesday said that anyone found involved in corruption would face music in days to come. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) would not spare anyone involved in corruption, he expressed these views in private tv news channel programe.

The cases of Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), are ten times more dangerous than the cases of Nawaz Sharif, he stated.

Voicing concerns on the situation of economy, Sheikh Rashid said the previous governments of PPP and PML-N, are responsible for inflation and bad economic conditions. He said both the leaders of the political parties had played havoc with economy of this country. The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government after coming into power, didn't know about the level of corruption done by the leaders of PPP and PML-N, the minister said. The Minister of Finance Asad Umer was taking drastic measures to stabilize the economy of Pakistan, he hoped.

Appreciating the optimistic approach of the Prime Minister, he said that Imran Khan had visited the friendly countries including Saudi Arabia and UAE, to seek their help and added that these countries had supported the present government.

The minister said the mini budget is being presented in couple of days adding that we expressed the hope that people would see better situation in terms of prices of the products of daily items.

He, however said that there is need to work on gas and electricity sectors.

To a question, he said that thieves and looters of national money had badly damaged the the whole structure of the economy. It will take some time to bring improvement in every sector, he added.

Khurshid Shah of PPP and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), was trying to engage or pressurize the NAB to avoid cases, he said.

To another question, he said that it would be better to ask the question about my Ministry rather than to raise concerns about other ministries. As far as my Ministry was concerned, plan is afoot to launch more freight and other trains to provide better facilities to the people. I would sit in Karachi and Lahore offices to look into the matters of Railway besides seeing the progress for launching trains across the country.

In reply to another question, he said in my opinion, these elements are unsuitable for Pakistan, they should leave this country for ever. He, however said that there was lot of ways to return the plundered money back to this country.
